I need to finish this coffee, get the bug out of bed and get moving!

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down

Finally , the guys' side of the story.
We always hear " the rules "
From the female side

Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are our rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered "1"
ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports . It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides.
Let it be .

1. Shopping is NOT a sport.
And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a Problem. See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria 's Secret girls, don't Expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something
Or tell us how you want it done.
Not both!
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.. . Really .

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics a baseball, the shotgun form action, or golf.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight;

But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Wordless Wednesday

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Tv30_BfaEg4/RufaIT2k8fI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/3ib7DlkMpR4/s400/WW+stayfree.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5109292138578113010" />

Blog Reading!

Thought I'd share some blog posts I've been reading this morning while waiting for Mary to get going on school!

Hop over to It Could' Been Worse to read about the basic difference between boys and girls. Here's the link to her post Silent Night Song

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news on September 11, 2001.

Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say, "Good-bye."

I held his fingers steady as he dialed

I gave him the peace to say, "Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK...I am ready to go."

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children.

I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out for Me for help. "I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!" I said, "Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now."

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Kansas, London. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; "Come to Me...this way...take My hand." Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.

But, I was there.

I did not place you in the tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

September 11, 2001 was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are "ready to go."

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Remember...I love you.

Author: Unknown

Do you remember where you were on that day?

Back on Ebay!

I've got a listing on Ebay again! Check out Cafe Mom! It's like a MySpace for moms. I'm sure moms, daughters, aunts, grandma's and sisters are all welcome, too. Open on Sunday! Wow! I was so glad. I had Bill check into it yesterday when he got home, but they were all closed by then. I knew the odds of getting in to see my regular doc on Monday morning was pretty slim, so we headed for the Immediate Care this morning.

The doctor was cool. Quick and to the point. She didn't want to be there more than any of us in the waiting room, I'm sure. But she was nice, respectful and gave me a boatload of stuff to get me feeling better and all the explainations to go with each item. That's rare, these days, in my experience. I was not exactly in the 'comprehending mode' of listening, but Bill was with me and I knew he would remember.

We didn't have to wait too long either, which was a blessing, since I was trying to move as little as possible in order to prevent one of those disgustingly long coughing jags that sounds like I'm bringing up a lung. I was able to prevent that happening until I went up to the window when my name was called thinking they were calling me to the back when all they wanted was the co-pay. Arg. Oh well.

We headed right over to the pharmacy when we left, fists full of perscriptions and estimating what portion of the paycheck was going to have to go to these life savers. Let's see; groceries for the rest of the week or let mom live? Tough choice, but I think there's still some mac and cheese and ramen in the pantry. (The ants didn't even want THAT!) The doctor blessed me with a coupon, though, for the inhaler that I was sure would bring me back from that walk toward the light I was anticipating in the near future.

I hadn't eaten a real meal in two days so we stopped at Crispers for a sandwich and a bowl of soup. We sat in relative silence, chomping away at our sandwiches and watching the people around us enjoying their repast. I didn't want to risk chattering too much; that causes the coughing fit to start, too.

Where's Mary, you ask?

She's spending the day with the neighbors! They went out to their Aunt's house where they're swimming and clowning around. They go every week and the boys invited Mary to go along. We called her to let her know that mom would live to see another day. She was relieved.

'Okay! Okay! Can I go now?'

Such love and support.

Sick and Tired...

of ants! And I'm sick, sick, sick to boot! Felt this coming on bit by bit all week long, but then BAM like a freight train hitting me, I'm down. Can't breath, cough, cough, cough, can't talk.
This morning Mary is getting her old sick mom some crackers and pulls her arm out of the box covered in ants! I'm so proud of her for not getting hysterical! She sounded really mad, though. "MOM! The are ants IN the box!" When I got to the kitchen she had dropped the box on the counter and was picking the stupid things off of her arm. I threw the box into the trash can and peered into the pantry to see what else the little buggers had gotten into... All of the cereal and the other box of crackers. Damn! All went into the trash, I hauled it outside, now totally out of breath and coughing like crazy, just trying to get enough oxygen in me to get back into the house. Mary sprayed the floor of the pantry with ant spray, a healthy dose on the counter and was searching for more of the little devils as I collapsed on the bed.
And that's exactly how Bill found the kitchen we got home around 6. Poor guy.

More Ants!

They found the cat food....

Morning Coffee

awoke as usual to the sound of the cats trying to get my attention. One wants outside, the other in the garage. I stumble through the darkness to answer their requests, notice the time and decide to put the coffee on. Bill will be up in a few minutes to play his morning solitaire on the computer while munching away on his bagel before work.
After battling ants all day yesterday, the coffee pot and all it's components were in the dish drainer, shining brightly now from being scrubbed. I take the coffee out of the cupboard, slip the filter into it's home and fill it with grounds. I grab the pot, fill with water and pour. HIt the button. We'll have that hot cup in just a minute or two.

It sure is making a weird sizzling sound. Gee, what's that in the drainer? The basket that holds the filter and coffee! Water and grounds are pouring through the gaping hole in and around the pot, sizzling on the warmer, puddling around the coffee pot. Yikes! Turn the thing off, unplug it, sop up all the grounds and water that have gone everywhere, add the handy basket, put in new grounds, refill the tank...

Ah, crap... I didn't need to refill the tank. It was pretty much full; now over-full and running out the back of the coffee maker all over the counter. Unplug again, trot it over to the sink and let it drain nicely. And I walk away.

Handy, sweet husband takes over. I hear him in the kitchen now. He gets it all set up, pushes the button, and then realizes that he didn't need to fill the thing up with water again, either. Water is puddling all over the counter, he's madly wiping up.

I think we need to go back to bed, because we aren't getting any coffee too soon!

Wordless Wednesday

Weird Facts

Verified? It was, after all, the end of a long work week for most and the start of a long weekend for others. Everyone in town was in the store.

I didn't go in until four o'clock. When I got there I got to stand at the self-service check outs. Let me tell you, this is loads of fun!

We were waiting for Dayna to arrive in town. Coming up from Orlando for her little sister's birthday was a welcome thing after all the hours she had been working. Thursday Dayna spent the day at the sevice station having her car looked over before she made the trip up to LC. While she was there she was informed that two of the motor mounts were gone and her car wasn't safe to drive. Three hundred plus dollars later, her car was safer and running well, with some advice from the mechanic that tires should be next on her list.

She set out Friday afternoon for Lake City, Mary anxiously awaiting the arrival of her sister. She hadn't seen her in a while and had a whole list of things to show her.

Around five o'clock Bill and Mary showed up at WalMart. I knew he would be in to get a couple of things for dinner, so I wasn't too surprise. That is, until Bill told me that Dayna had broken down and was at a gas station near Ocala! She said her car was acting really weird and she was losing power. So she did the right thing and pulled off the interstate and called dad.

The people at the gas station were very kind. They let her use the phone as much as she needed. Her cell phone works in Orlando, but cuts out when she gets too far away.
So Bill and Mary headed south to see what was up with Dayna's car. It's about an hour or so away, so Dayna would be waiting there for a while. I stood at the self-service checkouts worrying about Dayna and her being stuck there in Ocala.
Shortly after nine o'clock I see them coming down the front aisle of WalMart, all tired but smiling. Bill checked out the car and thinks it just got really hot. He added some transmission fluid as it was low and he drove it the rest of the way up here while Dayna and Mary followed behind in our car.

My relief was instant! Dayna was safe. Tired and a bit PO'd, but safe. Another life lesson learned for her.

They picked up a few things there at the store, we visited while I had a break and then they headed home. I went back to the ever-exciting self-check.

It wasn't but a few minutes later when I hear a commotion toward the middle of the check out lanes. Voices are raised, sounds like an argument. Then a sea of WalMart personnel come running from all directions, I see their blue shirts, hear their keys jangling as they are running full speed from all over the store to this scene of this argument.

I don't don't what is going on, but it's getting louder.

I went up to the center aisle and kept people from heading in that direction.
Then I see this crowd of management escorting a couple people down the aisle toward the door. There is still yelling going on and someone protesting their treatment. They keep yelling at the guy to take it outside. There was an older couple sitting on the bench just near the exit and I asked them to move. Not knowing what was really going on, I didn't think they should be right in the path of this entourage coming toward us.

They managed to get the guy outside. I don't know what happened after that. The management hung around the door for a while and some customers were a little reluctant to go out to the parking lot by themselves so we had them walked out by other employees.

I never found out what had actually happened, but I was very impressed by the speed at which the management converged on the situation and had it out the door in very little time. They stayed in the area, also, to make sure the incident didn't ignite again.

I went home shortly after that to my nice quiet house. Bill had to go back into work around midnight to receive a plane that was due in for maintenance. It was a late night for all of us.

Gone to Build a Bear!!!

A Little List

Reading my favorite blogs this morning I found this on Flip Flop Floozie's page, so I thought I'd join in! Maybe you'll learn a little bit about me. (scary!)

Accent - Originally from Southern California, I tend to mimic the accent of wherever we live, so I guess mine tends to be a bit southern sometimes, now, with a dash of Lake City's own slant.
I Don't Drink- MILK! Can't stand it. My mom told me I would even through my bottle out of the crib! I can't stand the smell of it!
Chore I hate - Not too fond of many, but really hate that darn cat box. Love the cat's though!
Pets - 2 cats; Boris and Oreo
Essential Electronics - My computer, a must for homeschool and LOVE my digi camera!
Perfume - Don't really wear any much anymore. I used to wear Tabu a lot, but don't like it anymore.
Insomnia - Sometimes, but all I usually have to do is try to read a book laying down and then I can't keep my eyes open.
Job Title - Cashier at WalMart! Hoo-Eeee!
Most Admired Trait - Mine? Don't have a clue. Honesty is what I would expect in other people.
Religion - Christian. I was raised Catholic...somewhat, but don't understand much of that.
Siblings - Two brothers since childhood and 2 sisters that I gained as an adult!
Time I wake up - The cats think that I should be up at 5:10 every morning for some reason. Sometimes they let me go back to sleep.
Unusual talent/skill - Everything about me is unusual, just ask my hubby. lol
Vegetable I refuse to eat - spinach, cooked. Raw in a salad is okay. Just don't like to see that squirmy mass of green after it's cooked!
Worst habit - Procrastination. I'm going to work on that, but thought I'd wait until the new year.
X-rays - chest, foot, hand and mouth. They should do my head to see if there's anything good in there!
My favorite meal- There's so many! But Pat's stroganoff has to top the list, I think.

So leave some comments! Take the little quiz for yourself and let me know! And I even bought some new fancy sneakers to wear at my new job at WalMart! Could it be that all these months of sitting on my rear end has caused that muscle to widen and my leg muscles to weaken? Nah! But boy do my feet hurt!
Worked from 5 to 10:30 tonight, shadowing a real nice lady named Pat around the store. I seem to know a few real nice ladies named Pat. Good name.
I helped some customers while she pointed out what buttons to push on those new fangled computerized cash registers, we filled in for people in the money center and customer service so they could have breaks, and I stood out in the garden center watching people coming and going and assuring no tv's or packages of sweat socks were leaving the property without being paid for. "Thank ya for shopping at WalMart! Y'all got a receipt for that?"
Mary and Bill stopped by to see me while I was at work. I was just returning from break when I saw that little blondie girl running toward me. She was very excited about being there. She'd earned some new Barbie clothes for her work helping Debbie with the kids. She's so good with them.
So I'm home now. Bill and Mary are asleep and the cats are on the prowl. Poor Boris doesn't know what time of day it is. He thinks it's time for his daily routine. Sorry Bo, can't go outside now. The kitten's raced around and caught the bugs that followed me through the front door, had a bite to eat, run from my wrath after clawing the couch and is now curled up in the pile of shoes by the front door.
Guess I oughta go to bed.

What? Wednesday?

The last few days have gone by fast. It's barely Wednesday, will be Thursday by the time I'm done here.
I've spent the last couple of days helping Debbie out with the grandkids; she hasn't been feeling well. Boy, those 3 little one's are a handful! The youngest, a cute as can be little boy, is just hilarious, the middle one is 2 and is really good at it, the middle child who lets us know with a blood curdling scream when she feels slighted in any way at all. The oldest is 5, very bouncy, can carry a tune quite well, stumbles a lot and it quite a little character, looking forward to starting kindergarden.
I'm SO glad my girls are 10 years apart!
Yeah, they didn't 'play' as children together. When Mary was a toddler, Dayna had quite a few ways to torture her and did whenever she got the chance. But Mary was quite creative, too. She knew Dayna didn't like those big sloppy kisses and she'd plant one on her at every opportunity!
Oh, look! It's Thursday now!
I've wiggled my way out of the photo department at WalMart. I have just evening hours as a cashier now. This will work a lot better for us! It's kind of what I wanted in the first place, but if you put your availability as anything but 'available 24 hours at your discretion' it's impossible to get an interview! This will give me a lot more time to work with homeschool stuff, house stuff and helping Debbie out, too.
We splurged today and bought a movie. I haven't had a good laugh in a long time and Wild Hogs was just hilarious! It has some favorite actors of mine in it and they didn't let me down! Too funny! If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. Bill even stayed up late to watch the whole thing! He was up way past his bed time!
Well, Mary's in her room fighting with the kitten. She's come out twice in 10 minutes to tell me she can't fall asleep. Oreo is walking all over her and she can't fall asleep. Argh.....
I should be off to bed myself; morning will come early and it'll be time to go back over and herd the little kids to the breakfast table! Let the pancakes fly!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lostinlakecity.blogspot.com/2007/08/what-wednesday.html' title='What? Not much new, same old stuff. Silly videos to watch, company history, safety videos, talked to a couple different people who told us about their life at WalMart, very rah, rah. Started some computer based training, that's all the rage these days. The day went by pretty quickly. Can't complain. Got my name tag! She spent that day at Mike and Debbie's yesterday while Bill and I were at work. She helps out with the grandkids and does whatever Debbie needs her to do. Mike took her and the oldest granddaughter to the store and while they were there he picked up a little wading pool for the two youngest kids. When I got there in the afternoon to pick her up, she and the oldest girl were in the big pool and the two tiny ones were in the wading pool. They were so cute and having such a great time! It's a little blow up pool and they had about 4 inches of water in it for them. This was the baby place to be!

Mike told me that Mary just loved that thing, too! She was sure this would be perfect for her to have in her yard to get in and cool off! She, of course, thought it was just absurd when I told her she was a bit big for it.

Later in the evening, Debbie and I were off to the store and while at WalMart she told me that Mike wanted her to get that little pool for Mary. They were on clearance and there was only one left and wanted to be sure and get one.

So we did.

When I got home I gave it to Mary and she was so excited! She just could not wait for morning to come so Bill could blow it up and fill it with water for her! So here she is in her new puddle! She was out in it for over an hour, long enough to get all wrinkly and wet.

This evening she was all set to lounge in her puddle again and then toast some marshmellows over a fire that she talked her dad into building in the little patio fireplace we have, but the wind started blowing, the clouds blew in and the thunder and lightening made an appearance, so the plans were cancelled. Thankfully though, she was pacified by the fact that 1) there's always tomorrow and 2) Elvis was on TV Land; The 1968 Comback Special! She grabbed her pink poodle she got at Build a Bear and perched herself on our bed and was glued to the TV for 90 minutes, only interrupted by Oreo screaming at her to open the door.

Bill spent the day with Tiger Woods; well, watching him on the golf course. Now there's football on. Mary and I escaped sports central in the scrap room playing with pictures. It was a pretty quiet day.

The night time ritual has started. I tell Mary to go get ready for bed, but she never seems to remember that this includes brushing her teeth and washing her face. We're getting ready for school to start and that means earlier bed time for her. She's not thrilled about that. I think she likes being a night owl.

Dayna's Driving Advise

Dayna has been living in Orlando for a little over a year now. When she got her driver's license and started driving on a regular basis it was in our little hick town. Getting used to driving in a big city has proven to be interesting for her. Following are her observations that she would like to tattoo on part of the population's foreheads...
If you can't follow these simple rules, then you should not be driving!
1. Red means stop, green means go.
2. If you can not talk and drive, get off the damn the phone.
3. When turning, use your blinker, I do believe most cars have them.
4. In relation to the above statement, use the corresponding blinker with the corresponding turn .
5. If while driving you hear this really annoying clicking noise, look down, it's probably your blinker you left on from the turn you made about 5 minutes ago (thanks for using the blinker, but now people are just thinking you're a dumbass).
6. If after 10 minutes you're still sitting at the left turn light wondering why it has not changed, move up a couple inches, you aren't on the sensor and everyone behind you is extremely pissed off.
7. If you're waiting to turn, and the car coming toward you looks to be going too fast to turn in front of, it probably is. Therefore, don't turn in front of it, unless you enjoy getting honked at, flipped off, and cut off in a matter of a few seconds.
8. Most houses come equiped with driveways, use them!
9. If I'm already going 10 miles over the speed limit and you're still riding my ass, you better back off before I slam on my brakes and make you hit me.
10. On that note, if the speed limit is 45, don't go 35, you're making a lot of people mad.
11. Please do not brake randomly! It's really annoying and makes you look like a moron!
12. If there is no stop sign DO NOT FRIGGIN STOP!!!!!!!!
13. Do not stop 3 bus lengths behind the car in front of you at a stop light (this really annoys me).
14. It has been tested, and the results are in...it is impossible to come to a complete stop in order to make a turn! Don't try it, I promise it doesn't work.
15. You can not drive in 2 lanes, I'm sorry you just can't.
16. If a car is a mile ahead of you and they just happen to brake, please to not slam on your own brakes. I think you're being a little too cautious...you jackass
17. Is it really necessary to come flying up on my ass, procceed to get infront of me just to slam on your damn brakes to get into the left hand turn lane??? Dumbass.
That is all I have for now, more to come, probably sooner than later.

A New Job...Again.

A few weeks ago I filled out an application at the WalMart here in our little town. Frantic about needing money coming into the house I figured, what the hell. I sat for about an hour fiddling with the application on their little machine; similar to a computer, supposed to be user friendly, mouse ball on the fritz. It took twice the time it should have taken to answer all the silly questions, 65 in all, because the ball thingy was wacked out and wouldn't go where I wanted it to go. It did cross my mind, however, that this may be a test in itself. If I could navigate through the application process while sitting among the throng of people waiting in the customer service line, then maybe I had a chance to advance to the next step.
I didn't hear from anyone so I called the store and talked to someone in personnel. They were really busy, but yes they were hiring, could I call back tomorrow? Certainly! This went on for quite a few days, but finally talked to someone who actually looked at my application and was told that they would get it to the right people. Okay.
Another couple of days go by, so I call again. Finally, the person actually reads the application and says that they really need someone in the photo lab and she would get my app to her right away. The week ends with no word, but bright and early Saturday morning as I cut and paste pictures on my latest scrapbook page, the phone reads and the caller ID announces it's the WalMart Super Center.Super! Can I come in on Tuesday for an interview? Of course!
Tuesday comes and I spit and shine my shoes, iron up my best WalMart clothes, and douse myself with powder, cuz it's HOT and I will surely sweat through my clothes just walking through the parking lot and head over for my interview. They have me waiting in the area that used to be the layaway department, on a bench where another gentleman is sitting, apparently waiting, also, to be interrogated...I mean, interviewed. He's dressed in a suit. I assume he's applying for a much higher position than I am.
I sit, twidling my thumbs, reading the various signs and notices still plastered on the walls that pertained to the layaway department, trying to wait patiently for my interview.
Out of the corner of my eye I see a familiar shape and turn to see Bill walking toward me! He was out of the office for a while and came to see if I had gone in for the interview yet. He said he just walked around the store trying to figure out where I might be and he found me! He's so cute. He wished me luck and headed back to work.
As I watched him walk away, I said, "Man, those husbands, you just never know when they'll show up." The man in the suit found that quite amusing. He was still laughing when someone came out to talk to him.
It wasn't long before it was my turn in the chair. I was interviewed by the photo department manager and the assistant store manager, who asked me tons of questions; yada, yada, yada. I filled out a bunch of papers, was informed of the drug test policy and was sent off with my little lab note to go fill a specimen jar.
Another week goes by and not a word. I didn't know what to think, but finally I get a call the other day telling me to be at WalMart for orientation this Saturday from 9 to 5.
Required clothing for WalMart employees these days is khaki pants and blue t-shirts. This was easy to come by. And I also found a new pair of tennis shoes that look like they will do for many hours of standing on my feet. The other thing I needed has proven a bit hard to come by.
This would be a new bra. Stop reading now if you don't care.
But I really need new bras. I don't remember when I bought them for myself. I think it was in Indiana. We've been in Florida four years now.
The first place to look was, natually, WalMart! They carry that tried and true brand, Just My Size, which means that there is every size in the rack BUT just my size! No luck. So we skip on over to the itty, bitty mall here in town and take a stab at JCPenney and the other stores there with no luck, of course, but I wasn't really expecting to find anything.
Driving home I ponder the idea of heading down to Gainesville to shop in the bigger stores down there. Surely, it would be easier to find something to fit in a town that not only sported two super WalMarts, but a Target, a real life-sized mall and several specialty shops that cater to the full-figured woman.
Or do I just wait until another day and see if that last hook on the back of my only bra, almost stretched to it's limit, will hold on just a little while longer.
Mary and I headed to Gainesville around six o'clock
First stop the WalMart on 13th Street. Huge WalMart! No luck.
Next stop, cross town, another WalMart, smaller, but bigger than ours nonetheless.
They had one.
Don't like it.
Looked at the time.
Just about 9. The other stores and the mall will be closed by the time we get there.
Okay. It will do.
We hadn't had dinner, so we grabbed a burger and headed home up the interstate. The drive wasn't bad if you didn't count the semi trucks trying to take us out. We drove our little toy car, the Scion, which is really, really small and I think one the truckers like to mess with. If we were to be hit in the back, we'd be dead. So I stayed in the fast lane where the trucks are not supposed to go and making all the other speed demons extremely mad because I'm not going a hundred miles and hour. But we had Elvis blasting on the stereo with Mary singing along and we didn't care!
Now, I'm off to bed to dream of the little WalMart smiley face bouncing around in my head!

Too cute not to look

If you have a couple minutes to play, check this out! I followed him across the yard as he watched me suspiciously as he made his way to the neighbor's driveway. It was blistering hot today and I think his little feet were burning on the concrete. He would take a few quick steps then pull his feet up into his shell. He finally made it to a shady spot under the neighbors truck. Apparently, he caused quite a ruckous with the neighbors! He sprinted into their garage when they opened the door and they had quite a time trying to get him out!

Hi! I sure missed you! I know if you don't tell everyone you know where to find me I'll be horribly lonely and depressed over here, so pass the news...Deanna's moved again! Now to my family and friends this comes as no surprise. We move a lot! This move, however, was relatively painless; no boxes to pack and unpack, no utilities to change over, no need to piss off the cat, who in his 15 years of life has moved right along with us...a lot!

Hopefully this new and improved Blogger will be kind to me and let me post with few headaches. Now I just need to have someone help me pretty up the site, cuz the options for how the blogs look are just too darn plain! I need pretty! This black won't last long, I hope.

So I'm toddling off to start a new book. Mary and I went to the library this afternoon to pick up something new to read. We also made a stop at the post office to mail a REALLY late birthday present!

Let's see how a picture does here....

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lostinlakecity.blogspot.com/2007/08/hi-im-back.html' title='Hi!
